Surgery Update

Hey Again! I forgot to talk about my surgery! So every thing was set for APril 30, 2008 and then we found out that my doctor has not signed off on the surgery, so now I have to get him to do that.. I hope that I am able to get this done, because I already took the time off from work...It is always something..

My Favorite Other Little Boo!

LONG TIME!

You know I really wanted to be a person that blogged all the time, but I have not been able to do that since I have so BUSY! I am back. Here is an update:

Work: At work I am getting ready for our Film Festival. I have to admit that after doing this for five years I now have the hang of it. This year we will be screening the film Juno, which I hear is a must see for everyone. I have never seen so many people excited about the showing of one film. The next day is just Q&A with guest from the entertainment industry. Hopefully that should be great.

Production: I am interviewing interns this week to work on our doc project, the MLY project and the curvy tv show,We have gotten a ton of resumes, and some of the people are very nice and of course you always get a bunch of PSYCHO people. We are in the final phase of getting the rights for our film, so once I have them, I promise to post more about the project.

Foundation: I tried to recruit some summer interns, but I have had no luck with that. I was going to hire a college student to help work in the office, but that idea also failed, so right now I am going to have to continue with the people that we have, and I hope and pray that we will get some volunteers to help us. I am also going to try and recruit some women off of Myspace to help us with our Mommy and me project.

So in a nut shell that is what has been going on. I have been so busy, that I have not even had time to go to the movies (sad), but I will try to make it there this weekend, and give everyone an update!

FYI: The cartoon that you are laughing at was found on http://www.normandcompany.com/

What A Week!

So I am a little bit behind in blogging this week. I am trying to get back in to getting up early for work, and it has been so hard, because I am discovering that I am no longer a morning person who likes to get up early, but a person who likes to sleep late and go to bed late. Well, this week I am trying my best to get on schedule. I feel a little happy today because I did find a house sitter, but I am also sad because it is so hard trying to maintain a business in another state, and at the same time work on getting your career off the ground. I am almost forty and I am still trying to become a film producer full time, WOW! is it hard to do..Ok, Ok, I am not going to bitch because I will then begin to fill sorry for myself; and if there is anything that I can't stand is when someone stats to feel sorry for themselves when they should be thankful that they have a job, clothes, food, and a roof over your head; Man, I am starting to sound like my grandmother! So last night after work, I realized that I have not been going out as much, I think it is because of the lack of funds. When ever I have to start shooting a movie, I begin to cut back on my spending such as buying music, dvds, etc...So instead of staying home on a Friday and working on something, I decided to go to the movies and see, "The Ruins.." It was VERY GOOD! I will never look at a plant the same again. If you have some free time this weekend, you should go and check it out. ..Who would have every thought that the cute little girl from "SAVED," is all grown-up and playing in horror films.....
On the production side I am looking for interns to help with pre-production. If you guys know anyone have them to e-mail me at: ahha2327@aol.com

Spring Break Sucks!

So this is my spring break weekend, and I should have been getting a lot of rest and hanging out at the beach, but instead I went to the dentist, took my dog to the vet, and I spent two days just working out. I also had a Doctor's appointment, because if you don't know by now I am going to be getting the Lap-Band surgery, if it is approved by my insurance. Bye-Bye FAT! Yes, I am over getting on the plane and stressing out for five hours because I am in a small seat with no leg room. They really should do something about air travel. It is so not comfortable. I HATE IT! I would love to have a First Class seat, but not with the price..Ok, Ok, I am off the subject. So I am going to have the surgery. I am so looking forward to it. I still have to make my fat ass want to go to the gym, which is so hard after a long day of working. Ok, enough of me ranting! Here is a breakdown for work:

Production: Finally we are in the last stages of getting the rights to MLT! I can't wait. I will be glad when the book is finally ours, and I can place the name and information on this blog. I just sent an e-mail to two writers who are suppose to be working on a Myspace story for our company. Let's how they have been writing and not just sitting their holding a pen. I also finished Film Independent's Fast Track Application, I hope our project gets selected! We could use a little happiness! On the foundation front I worked two grants while I have been home: one from Hilton Hotels and the other one is for Teaching Tolerance. Grant writing is so funning; once you have the blueprint you just have to keep changing it to fit the grant. I so hope that we get some money soon, it is so hard to fund a foundation. On a positive note, we finally got a date for our Youth Arts Expo. It is going to be held on May 17, 2008, so I have to get my Fat ass on a plane again, but hopefully I would have lost some weight because I would have had my surgery if my insurance company approves it, which I hope they will! Stay tune for weekend haps!

Hairspray Musical

New York Trip

The New York trip was Awesome! I had a good time. The hotel, The Hilton was very nice and it was in the middle of everything! On the way to the airport I got to see Paris Hilton with her boyfriend; talk about a DIVA! She even walks like she wants to be seen. We were able to figure out that was her because of the Paparazzi. Her boyfriend seemed very laid back. They were on their way to London. While in New York I also had a chance to catch the musical "Hairspray." It was great! The actors were very good. George Wendt who use to play Norm on Cheers, played Edna Turmblad and he did an Outstanding job; he is also a good dancer. My conference at Columbia University was GREAT! I always love that campus. This week I am on Spring Break, and I am going to try to get a lot of things done.

Update:
Foundation: Isn't it funny I just stayed at the Hilton Hotel, and today I finish an application for a Hilton Grant. I hope that we get it. We are going to use the money to start a Cooking Class for Pre-schoolers and their parents.
Also we have a grant we are trying to get from Hamburger Helper. If you want to support us with this grant, you can go to http://www.myhometownhelper.com/ViewProject.aspx?tell=2&id=40505, and a positive comment so that we can get the grant.
Production:
It looks the MLT project is a go, we are just waiting to hear from the agent in response to book rights. We are going to finish the Fast Track Project, so hopefully we will get it.
