Since August I have been trying to get a new tenant to rent my house in Florida. Well, I found the person in June, but she gets Section 8, which is the Government Housing Program. Well, it has taken me to January 7 (TODAY), to finally get approved. This is the longest process I ever had to deal with; and to think no wonder there are so many homeless people and families in the world, because the housing program takes their time on filing the paperwork. The funny thing when I asked them why it took so long no one could give me an answer, but now everyone is being very nice and returning all of my telephone calls and answering all of my questions….Go Figure??????

BACK ON THE GRIND!!!!!

Today was my first day back to work after being out for two weeks. In a way I was excited to get the semester started, and I love hearing from my students how they spent their Christmas Holidays. They always love to tell me about their new holiday gadgets and what films they saw over the break. The number one film that everyone one saw was Avatar, followed by Sherlock Holmes. It is always hard to get my students back on task after break, so I allowed them to just talk about what they did over the holidays, as they worked on their final exam preparations. I don’t know why I was so tired when I got home, but I did two things that I never do. One I watched the film "Inglourious Basterds,” which was so funny! I must admit that I am not a fan of Brad Pitt because of the whole Angelina Jolie ( I still think they cheated on Jennifer Aniston to be together), but in this movie he was very funny. Quentin Tarantino’s film is a creative complex story with a “Awesome” cast, and a interesting music score. If you are looking for something to rent, I suggest you start here.
The Second thing that I did was make dinner at home. Which is very, very rare! I am a big “Eat Out,” type of person, but I have decided that this year, I am going to try and eat out less and eat more at home. My goal is to only eat out this Friday because I am meeting a group of friends after work…Hopefully that will work.. So for diner I had my favorite; Trader Joe’s Chicken Nuggets with some leftover salad from lunch today. It was pretty good. Tomorrow, I am going to make black beans, yellow rice and grill fish. Hopefully it turn out…..OH I ALMOST FORGOT ABOUT THE BIG NEWS……
I think that my house is finally going to be on Section Eight, which is making my tenant very happy details on that coming up!!!!!!!

Holiday Movies To See!!!

The best thing about having a break is that you have a lot of free time to enjoy the things that make you happy. This week I was lucky to watch the following films and here is what I though of them:
Princess and the Frog: Wow! Disney gives animation the “Diva” treatment in 'The Princess and the Frog What a classic story that had outstanding animation and a wonderful array of music. The story reveals sweet qualities of mood and color and jazzy music that all work well together Truly a must see; even if you are not a kid!!!!
Avatar: This was a very long film, the reason I know that it was long because I went to sleep in the middle and when I woke up the film had another two hours left!!! Even though I did fall asleep, I still think that it was a good movie. The film is very breathtaking, it detracts you from the fact that the characters are caricatures, and too much of the dialogue is very basic. The visuals are very stunning and creative but the story is very basic.

What My Lapband Taught Me This Year

It has been a long time since I posted on my blog because of work and life I am so behind; but today I took time out to think about what I have really learned with my Lapband. I have learned that I am an emotional eater. Whenever I get stress out I eat, and whenever I am calm, I don’t eat as much. I am learning to look for the signs that my tummy tells me when it is full, and I try not to ignore them. I am also understanding that me and bread are totally over; we just can’t be together. Knowing and understanding my body will help me to set goals for 2010, that I need to accomplish, instead of trying to use a lot of weight at one time, I will set monthly goals; and try to maintain them. I will also start to use my WII more and maybe buy the dance workout game. The WII Fitness Coach has been great but again I need to make monthly and weekly goals to use with my workout. Also I am learning that I need to make sure that I keep a food journal and try to eat more at home and not out. Last week, every meal that I had was at a restaurant, which is not cool. If I am going to try and change my weight than I have to really focus and get dedicated to do it.

Happy Birthday To My Favorite BOO!!!!!
Happy Holidays To Everyone! I am so sorry that I have not been blogging....Work and life have me going but I want to catch up. Here is a photo of me and my boyfriend at Disneyland. This was my first time, and since you get in free on your birthday we decided to go.... We really had a great time. We ended up spending the weekend in Long Beach and can't wait to do it again. My favorite ride at Disneyland was Space Mountain. We also wanted to take a photo with Mickey, but we ended up with this guy instead....
