Spring Break Sucks!

So this is my spring break weekend, and I should have been getting a lot of rest and hanging out at the beach, but instead I went to the dentist, took my dog to the vet, and I spent two days just working out. I also had a Doctor's appointment, because if you don't know by now I am going to be getting the Lap-Band surgery, if it is approved by my insurance. Bye-Bye FAT! Yes, I am over getting on the plane and stressing out for five hours because I am in a small seat with no leg room. They really should do something about air travel. It is so not comfortable. I HATE IT! I would love to have a First Class seat, but not with the price..Ok, Ok, I am off the subject. So I am going to have the surgery. I am so looking forward to it. I still have to make my fat ass want to go to the gym, which is so hard after a long day of working. Ok, enough of me ranting! Here is a breakdown for work:

Production: Finally we are in the last stages of getting the rights to MLT! I can't wait. I will be glad when the book is finally ours, and I can place the name and information on this blog. I just sent an e-mail to two writers who are suppose to be working on a Myspace story for our company. Let's how they have been writing and not just sitting their holding a pen. I also finished Film Independent's Fast Track Application, I hope our project gets selected! We could use a little happiness! On the foundation front I worked two grants while I have been home: one from Hilton Hotels and the other one is for Teaching Tolerance. Grant writing is so funning; once you have the blueprint you just have to keep changing it to fit the grant. I so hope that we get some money soon, it is so hard to fund a foundation. On a positive note, we finally got a date for our Youth Arts Expo. It is going to be held on May 17, 2008, so I have to get my Fat ass on a plane again, but hopefully I would have lost some weight because I would have had my surgery if my insurance company approves it, which I hope they will! Stay tune for weekend haps!

Hairspray Musical

New York Trip

The New York trip was Awesome! I had a good time. The hotel, The Hilton was very nice and it was in the middle of everything! On the way to the airport I got to see Paris Hilton with her boyfriend; talk about a DIVA! She even walks like she wants to be seen. We were able to figure out that was her because of the Paparazzi. Her boyfriend seemed very laid back. They were on their way to London. While in New York I also had a chance to catch the musical "Hairspray." It was great! The actors were very good. George Wendt who use to play Norm on Cheers, played Edna Turmblad and he did an Outstanding job; he is also a good dancer. My conference at Columbia University was GREAT! I always love that campus. This week I am on Spring Break, and I am going to try to get a lot of things done.

Update:
Foundation: Isn't it funny I just stayed at the Hilton Hotel, and today I finish an application for a Hilton Grant. I hope that we get it. We are going to use the money to start a Cooking Class for Pre-schoolers and their parents.
Also we have a grant we are trying to get from Hamburger Helper. If you want to support us with this grant, you can go to http://www.myhometownhelper.com/ViewProject.aspx?tell=2&id=40505, and a positive comment so that we can get the grant.
Production:
It looks the MLT project is a go, we are just waiting to hear from the agent in response to book rights. We are going to finish the Fast Track Project, so hopefully we will get it.

Doomsday!

Do you every like a good chick flick where the main charecter is a woman who is, as rap star Trina would say, "The Baddest Bitch"! If so you have to check out: Doomsday with Rhona Mitra she is one bad WOMAN! She makes Milla Jovovich (Resident Evil), look soft. The movie was about a virus that infects Scotland, and they (Government), sends her in too find out if there are any people left once they have closed off the city for several years. Make sure to check it out if you want action. Also I decided this weekend to take a break because I will be traveling to New York on Tuesday. I wanted to rest up for my trip. Why New York? I am attending a Journalism Conference at Columbia and I will also check out the musical "Hairspray," while I am there, I really wanted to see "Cat On A Hot Tin Roof," but the people that I am going with, wanted to see "Hairspray." While in New York, I will continue to blog if I have time, if not I wil catch up when I return.....

Weekend Fun!

Now I am back to normal, and back on the grind! This weekend I had a chance to check out the film, 1000BC, it was cool! The special effects were very interesting, and the main charecter (the guy) played by Steven Strai, is very easy on the eyes!  Also this weekend I worked on a Reality Pilot called, "On The Plus Side."  It was a lot of fun, but you know there is something that will always go wrong. The Audio guy did not show up, so we had to run audio with a boom mic. Let's hope the sound worked. I also wrote two grants for my mom's foundation. I have decided that I am only going to work on foundation stuff during my lunch break, because if not when I come home I never get to work on my film stuff.  If you want more information about my mom's foundation, log onto her website at: www.barbaraseniorsharkinsfoundation.org

Weekend Fun!

Welcome Back!

Hey! WowI can't beleive that I was out with the flu for the last few days! It seems like a long time! Well, I am back; and there is so much work to be done. Here is a recap:

Production: So we are in the final stages of securing the book rights to LT. I am so excited to be working on another feature, that I can't wait until we are done! Once we have gotten the rights we are going to get the budget done, hire a DP, and a Casting Director. On The Pluse Side: has hit a ROAD BUMP! Always rememember to get people who want to be actors so that they can bring something to the project. The actress that we are working with has decided to be a DIVA, so now I may have to act in it or the director might become the actress, the sad thing about it is that we may have to reshoot some scenes, which means: MORE MONEY, MORE MONEY! Hopefully we will have a good production for this Sunday! As for work, I am beginning to work on my job's Film Festival, so it should be fun!

Foundation: I just finished writing one grant from Food Lion and last week, while I was sick I wrote one for the Yobru Foundation. I hope that we get some MONEY SOON! Brenda, has been writing grants, but I am not sure where she is at this time, and so has Rachel. At the present time I am also trying to prep our South Dade Youth Expo Event. Thank God For MYSpace because I am finding a lot of speakers for the event!

As for this weekend, I went to see the film, Semi-Pro, which semi-sucked! I am not sure why this movie was so bad, but it was! Don't even waste your time going to see it. I somehow thought it would be like: Old School, but it was a far cry from it...
